TREC ALC Class of 2025 to Renovate Frazier Revitalization Outdoor Space for DCP: Mill City Project

The Real Estate Council’s (TREC) Associate Leadership Council (ALC) Class of 2025, in partnership with TREC Community Investors (TREC CI) – the philanthropic arm of TREC – will renovate the outdoor meeting space at South Dallas’ Frazier Revitalization as part of the group’s annual community investment project. The renovations will transform the place-based nonprofit’s outdoor space into a more inviting and functional community space, improving support for numerous neighborhood stabilization and community outreach and engagement programs that span all age groups. This includes the organization’s after-school program, which provides healthy childhood development resources for neighborhood children free of charge. In 2024, Frazier Revitalization served more than 800 meals to 50 neighborhood students and increased parent engagement by 60 percent.

The project at Frazier Revitalization will help advance the Dallas Catalyst Project (DCP): Mill City, a place-based economic development initiative that launched with a $1 million, three-year commitment from TREC CI in 2024. Since its founding, the ALC, TREC’s 10-month leadership development program designed to inspire and educate future commercial real estate leaders in Dallas-Fort Worth, has completed 29 neighborhood revitalization projects throughout the city.

“Frazier Revitalization embodies what TREC Community Investors stands for — community partnerships that support positive change and neighborhood revitalization,” said Dominique Pryor-Anderson, senior director of community investment at TREC CI. “I am excited to work alongside and learn from Frazier Revitalization’s team of experienced community development leaders as our 2025 ALC Class launches its project and we enter our next phase of Dallas Catalyst Project: Mill City.”

Renovations to the almost 4,000-square-foot space will include a shaded structure for year-round programming, improved lighting, enhanced Wi-Fi connectivity, outdoor seating, paved walkways, entry gates with secure keypads, and refreshed landscaping that will enhance the vibrancy of the center and neighborhood. With a total project cost of approximately $100,000, the renovations will be funded through a $75,000 grant from TREC Community Investors and an estimated $26,000 in in-kind contributions for landscaping, architectural, and structural services. The project is currently in its final design phase, with construction expected to begin this fall and completion anticipated early next year.

Renovations to the space will improve support for numerous initiatives for all age groups.

“The ALC Class of 2025 project presents us with an incredible opportunity to create positive, lasting change in the Mill City neighborhood, while also collaborating with Fraizer Revitalization, recognized for its decades of community transformation,” said Cullen Aderhold, ALC Class of 2025 chair. “Our team is excited to get started and carry on this program’s rich history of community impact and career development.”
