As one of three inaugural Impact Awards presented at Giving Gala on October 6, TREC named the Dallas Police Youth Foundation as the first recipient of its Legacy Leaders Impact Award. Not only was this nonprofit recognized, but they also received a contribution of $100,000 – $50,000 generously donated by TREC’s Legacy Leaders and then matched by TREC Foundation. This award, designed to recognize nonprofits making a lasting, positive impact on the community, is selected by former TREC chairmen, appointed leaders and selected community leaders.
“At no time in our city’s history has the role of police officers been so important, and TREC firmly supports the Dallas Police Youth Foundation’s efforts to make a lasting, positive impact on Dallas’ youth – a mission that nicely aligns with our own work to spark community transformation,” said TREC Foundation Chairman Greg Kraus, Invesco. “The organization and its officers work tirelessly to lead Dallas youth along the right path, and TREC’s investment will enhance their efforts to create Dallas’ future leaders, promote safer communities and build a better quality of life of all who live and work here.”
The Dallas Police Youth Foundation supports the youth outreach efforts of the Dallas Police Department as they engage and mentor at-risk children to become future community leaders. The Dallas Police Youth Foundation’s youth programs include the Dallas Police Athletic League, Blue In The School, Junior Police Academy, Dallas Junior Explorers, UNIDOS, and the Dallas Police Explorer Program.
TREC appreciates all the work the Dallas Police Youth Foundation does for our community and is proud to support their mission. TREC also recognized Tyler Berns of Austin Commercial with the Volunteer Impact Award and Jones Day with the Membership Impact Award. Thank your for your service in making Dallas better!
